JOINT MEAT RAFFLE
The Lodge and the Women of the Moose have come together in a joint effort to conduct a MEAT RAFFLE on Friday evening, July 15, 2016. You will find 3 raffle tickets included in your newsletter and hopefully you will send them back into the lodge with your check for $5.00 enclosed. The prizes for this raffle are as follows: 1st--Hind quarter of beef, 2nd--Front quarter of Beef, 3rd--1/2 hog, 4th--$100 gift certificate to Stauffer's Butcher Shop and 5th--$50 gift certificate to Stauffer's Butcher Shop. There will be extra tickets available at the bar if you would like extra chances or if you would be so kind as to take some and sell them to your family and friends. Imagine this--a quarter of beef for $5.00---WOW! But you must take that first step and buy some tickets.

Hello All
My wife, Sharon, and I just returned from a trip to Shavertown, PA. But wait, that's the end of the story. Let me start at the beginning.
On Monday, February 22, I was watching the news on WBRE and a lady came on the air telling a story about her son serving in the Military. It happens he is stationed at Guantanamo where the detainees have been eliminated and are awaiting the arrival of refugees. Meanwhile there is very little for our servicemen to do.
The US government created ball fields for the military but did not supply equipment and this woman was soliciting gloves and equipment for the servicemen.
This issue was brought to the meeting and the officers and members of Selinsgrove # 1173 approved the purchase of $2000 in gift cards from Dick's Sporting Goods. My wife and I delivered the cards on Wednesday, February 24th and that brings me to the beginning of this message.
What a warm and wonderful feeling we had when this woman hugged us with tears in her eyes and expressed her gratitude to the Selinsgrove Moose for your generous donation.
This is just one more example of the tremendous work done here at Selinsgrove, why it is important to continue your dues and why I am proud to be a part of this organization.

May God Bless You All.
