The General Laws of the Fraternal Order of Moose are specific and must be adhered to.
Sec.42.1 - Regular Membership Meetings - Every lodge shall hold at least two (2) regular general membership meetings each month as specified by the lodge by-laws. ......
Sec. 42.7 - Quorum - (A) For Lodges using Three Trustees: Seven (7) duly qualified members of the lodge shall constitute a quarum for the transaction of business at any membership meeting.....
There are varied consequences for failure to follow these regulations.
First, Moose Int'l could close the social quarters for a period of time until the requirements are met.
Secondly, the IRS could revoke our tax status for failure to follow General Laws.
Also the LCE (Liquor Control Enforcement) could fine the lodge or close the facility for a period of time or both for failure to follow our by-laws.
Membership meetings are for the purpose of distributing information and for the membership to approve the actions of the board.
Meetings usually last 30-40 minutes and are a great way to interact with other members.
Won't you please take the time on the second or fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM to join us.
